Napoleonskrigene og fastlandssperringen, 1807-1814 Hvordan nød og krig drev Norge fra Danmark til Sverige

Abstract

Denne oppgaven handler om Napoleons fastlandssperring og hvordan den påvirket Danmark-Norge. Dette er en periode som har mye å si for Norges framtid og problemstillingen er: Hvordan Norge ble fiendtlig mot Danmark og mer vennlig mot Sverige under Napoleonskrigene, og hva hadde fastlandssperringen med dette å gjøre? For å svare på dette vil oppgaven først gi en kort oversikt over fastlandssperringen, der innføringen og funksjonen er en viktig del. Deretter vil det bli redegjort for hvordan Danmark-Norge dras inn i Napoleonskrigene og den umiddelbare utviklingen. Videre vil den økonomiske krisen bli undersøkt. Her settes søkelyset i all hovedsak på statens bankerott og kaperkrigen. Hungersnøden har fått at eget kapittel på grunn av viktigheten rundt dette. Alle disse delene trekker fram flere grunner til at Norge ble mer fiendtlige mot Danmark. Etter dette så blir forholdet til Sverige analysert. Til slutt i hoveddelen blir slutten på Napoleonskrigene redegjort for, og det blir presentert at Sverige tar Norge som krigsbytte. Det blir fulgt opp av en avslutning som oppsummerer oppgaven og svarer på problemstillingen.

This thesis is about Napoleon's Continental System and how it affected Denmark-Norway. This is a period that has a lot to say for Norway's future and the research question is: How did Norway become hostile to Denmark and more friendly to Sweden during the Napoleonic Wars, and what did the Continental System have to do with this? To answer this, the thesis will first give a brief overview of the Continental System, where the introduction and function are important parts. Then it will be explained how Denmark-Norway is dragged into the Napoleonic Wars and the immediate development. Furthermore, the economic crisis will be examined. Here the focus is mainly on the state's bankruptcy and the privateering. The famine has got its own chapter because of the importance around this. All these parts highlight several reasons why Norway became more hostile to Denmark. After this, the relationship with Sweden is analysed. Finally, in the main part, the end of the Napoleonic Wars is accounted for, and it is presented that Sweden takes Norway as a prize of war. It is followed by a conclusion that summarizes the task and answers the research question.
