Hva er sykepleierens rolle og funksjon i et tverrfaglig samarbeid under rehabilitering av slagpasienter?

Abstract

Bakgrunn: I Norge rammes ca. 12000 mennesker av hjerneslag hvert år. Hjerneslag pasienter trenger en helhetlig og bred tilnærming for å ivareta og møte sine behov i sine behandlingsforløp. Kunnskap om rehabilitering ble igjen aktuelt den nye samhandlingsreformen i 2012. Gjennom den nye samhandlingsreformen fikk kommunale institusjoner større ansvar og flere oppgaver som ville bestå blant annet av tverrfaglig samarbeid. Tidligere forskning viser at sykepleierens rolle og funksjon i det tverrfaglige samarbeidet er vagt og vanskelig å definere av sykepleierne selv, pårørende, pasienter og deres tverrfaglige samarbeidspartnere

Hensikt: Å undersøke hva forskning sier om sykepleierens rolle og funksjon i et tverrfaglig samarbeid under rehabilitering av slagpasienter på rehabiliteringsavdelinger, samt utfordringer knyttet til sykepleierens rolle og funksjon på rehabiliteringsavdelinger.

Metode: En litteraturstudie med innhold fra fem valgte forskningsartikler med kvalitativ metode.

Resultat: Ved tematisk analyse ble det avdekket tre temaer: «Sykepleierens udefinerte rolle og funksjon», «profesjonalitet» og «Pårørende og pasienter» Konklusjon: Forskning viser at sykepleierens rolle og funksjon under rehabilitering av slagpasienter er vanskelig å definere selv om de har en nøkkelrolle. Sykepleierne har en koordinerende rolle i tillegg til at de skal yte grunnleggende sykepleie. Profesjonalitet anses som viktig hos sykepleierne, selv om det oppstår utfordringer når pasienter og pårørende leser seg opp på feil informasjon. På grunn av tidsmangel og underbemanning føler sykepleierne at de ikke får gitt hensiktsmessig rehabilitering til pasientene og at de ikke får ivaretatt pårørende. Det skulle ha blitt utviklet felles retningslinjer som kunne være med på å definere sykepleiernes rolle

Konklusjon: Forskning viser at sykepleierens rolle og funksjon under rehabilitering av slagpasienter er vanskelig å definere selv om de har en nøkkelrolle. Sykepleierne har en koordinerende rolle i tillegg til at de skal yte grunnleggende sykepleie. Profesjonalitet anses som viktig hos sykepleierne, selv om det oppstår utfordringer når pasienter og pårørende leser seg opp på feil informasjon. Background: Approximately 12000 people are affected by stroke yearly in Norway. Patients with stroke require a holistic and wide approach to assure that their needs are adequately met throughout their course of treatment. Knowledge concerning rehabilitation became relevant in connection to the introduction of the new coordination reform in 2012. Through the new reform, communal institutions were given more responsibility and additional tasks that would also include interprofessional cooperation. Previous research shows that the role and function of a nurse within the interprofessional cooperation is vague and hard to define by nurses themselves, patients, relatives and the interprofessional coorperation partners.

Purpose: To examine what research says about a nurse’s role and function within an interprofessional cooperation throughout the rehabilitation treatment of a patient with stroke at various rehabilitation departments. In addition, inspect the challenges connected to the role and function of a nurse at various rehabilitation departments.

Method: Literature studies including material from five chosen research article with qualitative method.

Results: With the use of a thematic analysis, three subject were disclosed. <<The nurses’ undefined role and function>>, <<professionality>>, and <<Relatives and patients>> Conclusion: Research shows that the role and function of a nurse throughout the rehabilitation treatment of a patient with stroke is difficult to define, although the nurse plays a key role. A nurse has a coordinating role in addition to basic nursing. Professionality is regarded as important even when challenges develop in connection to relatives attaining wrong medical information on their own. Lack of time and understaffing results in nurses feeling unsatisfied with the care that they are able to give because they are not able to properly care for the patients. To properly assess this issue, common guidelines should be established to help define the undefined role of the nurses
