Barnevern - Utfordringer og minoritetsfamilier

Abstract

Barnevernet i Norge har som sin hovedoppgave å ta vare på de mest utsatte barna. Barnevernet i Norge omhandler også barn og familier fra et annet kultur og bakgrunn. I kontakten med barnevernet kan derfor opplevelsene på bekostning av bakgrunn og kultur være vidt forskjellige. Forskjellene kan komme til syne ved flere eksempler. Det kan være eksempler som nevnt i setningen ovenfor kultur, kommunikasjon og språk. Da barnevernet er et veldig omtalt organ, både i media og blant mennesker i samfunnet er det derfor viktig for både barnevernet og minoritetsfamiliene å være bevisst på forskjellene som kommer til syne. I denne oppgaven har jeg derfor gått i dybden på utfordringene barnevernet og minoritetsfamiliene støter på i kontakten med hverandre og videre drøftet teoriene som har kommet frem.

The primary duty of the child welfare services is to safeguard the children and young people living under circumstances that may harm their health. The child welfare in Norway also concerns children and families from minority groups. The contact with the child welfare service can be experienced difficult when the minority families are in the picture, firstly because of the culture differences and secondly the language. The differences can be seen in several exemples. Examples as stated in culture, communication, and language. The child welfare is very popular topic in the media and among people in the society, it is therefore important for the child welfare and the minority families to be aware of the differences that approach to light. Therefore, will I in this assigment discuss the challenges the child welfare service and the minority families encounter in contact with each other and further discuss the theory that has emerged.
