Lønnsomhetsanalyse av Langnes og Bakkan Blikkenslagerforretning AS

Abstract

I denne semesteroppgaven har vi utarbeidet en regnskapsanalyse av Langnes og Bakkan Blikkenslagerforretning AS, hvor vi viser til den økonomiske stillingen og utviklingen til bedriften i tidsrommet 2016-2019. For å kunne forklare utviklingen til Langnes og Bakkan Blikkenslagerforretning AS i analyseperioden, har vi valgt å supplere regnskapsanalysen med en SWOT-analyse. En slik strategisk analyse vil være sentral for å finne årsakssammenhenger, samt skape kontekst til tallmaterialet. Semesteroppgaven er basert på bedriften sine regnskapstall og intervju med daglig leder Stein-Erik Sætermo. I starten av denne oppgaven vil vi presentere problemsstillingen, bedriften og bransjen. Deretter vil teoridelen legges frem, her fokuseres det på teori tilknyttet regnskapsanalysen, relevante nøkkeltall og SWOT-analysen. Videre i denne oppgaven følger metodekapittelet. Her vil vi presentere hvilke valg som er gjort i forbindelse med gjennomføring av denne oppgaven, samt reflektere rundt konsekvensene av disse valgene. Nærmere bestemt vil valg av undersøkelsesdesignet, valg av problemstilling og valg knyttet til innsamling av data, påvirke oppgaven sin reliabilitet og validitet. Vi skal altså vise til hvilke styrker og svakheter oppgaven har når vi hensyntar disse forhold. I det påfølgende kapittelet blir utviklingen til relevante nøkkeltall analysert dyptgående, før vi deretter sammenligner lønnsomheten i Langnes og Bakkan Blikkenslagerforretning AS med en konkurrerende aktør i bransjen, dette omtales som en benchmarking. For å finne bakenforliggende årsaker til lønnsomhetsutviklingen supplerer vi som sagt med en SWOT-analyse mot slutten av oppgaven. Avslutningsvis følger en konklusjon, hvor vi oppsummerer de mest sentrale funnene i oppgaven. Av analysen fremkommer det at Langnes og Bakkan Blikkenslagerforretning AS har en positiv utvikling på lønnsomheten i tidsperioden 2016-2019, men sliter med en lav lønnsomhet perioden sett under ett.

In this semester assignment, we have conducted a profitability analysis of the company Langnes og Bakkan Blikkenslagerforretning AS, where we refer to the financial position and development of the company in the period 2016-2019. In order to get a more complete perspective of the development of Langnes og Bakkan Blikkenslagerforretning AS during the analysis period, we have chosen to supplement the profitability analysis with a SWOT analysis. The semester assignment is based on the accounting figures of the company and information from CEO Stein-Erik Sætermo. At the beginning of this semester assignment, we present our research problem, along with the business and industry in question. Further, we present relevant theory associated with the profitability analysis, relevant key figures and the SWOT analysis. The next chapter contains the research methodology. We will be presenting which choices that have been made associated with the implementation of this assignment, as well as reflect around the consequences of these choices. More specifically, this includes choices of research design, choices of research question and choices regarding data collection, that will affect the assignments’ reliability and validity. We must therefore refer to the strengths and weaknesses of the assignment when we take these conditions into account. In the following chapter, we analyze the development of relevant financial key figures. In addition, we compare the profitability of Langnes og Bakkan Blikkenslagerforretning AS with a competing company in the same industry, so-called benchmarking. In order to find the underlying reasons for the profitability development, we supplement with a SWOT analysis towards the end of the assignment. Finally, we present a conclusion to our research problem. The analysis shows that Langnes og Bakkan Blikkenslagerforretning AS have a positive development in profitability during the period 2016-2019, but are struggling with a low profitability throughout the entire analysis period.
