The theme of this master thesis is: young childrens connection to adults in kindergarten. The study’s problem highlights how the kindergarten addresses the needs of youngchildren, and how the kindergarten can be a preventive arena. The research method isqualitative, which means that I go into the depths of human experience. I haveconducted a total of three semi-structured interviews with a preschool teacher, a specialeducation teacher and pedagocial psychological counsellor. The primary goal was to gainaccess to different experiences and perspectives regarding the thesis topic from threedifferent points of view. The problem will map young childrens connection needs ineveryday practice, different connection processes in the kindergarten, as well ashighlighting the importance of preventive work in the kindergarten. Finally, I haveconsidered how kindergartens contributes to increased quality and competencedevelopment. What I have described above, I see in light of a selection of differentattachment theories. John Bowlby affiliation theory adresses how necessary solidrelationsships are for forming inner working models for young children, and for furtherwell-being and development. Donald Winnicott is concerned about the liberation ofchildren from caregivers and what supports a good detachment process.
The results show that the participant agree fairly with the phenomenon of attachment, where the childs first year of life lays the foundation for further development in and afterkinderkarten. Adults who create security with sensitivity and stable relationships areessential. To support the needs of young children, the ability of adults to provide careand love is at a level that is in the best interests of the child, as well as meeting childrensemotions here and now. In addition, it is important that kindergarten employees have arealistic loot at children and wonder early with parents, where they show humility andrespect. To increase competence in kinderkarten, it is essential to have a professionaljustification for the reviews in kindergarten. Being togheter on the childs physical level, inboth good and vulverable situations is important. The unconsciously as well theconsciours in the kindergarten contributes to variours attachment processes, througheducational activities, daily activities and free play. A prerequistite for this is that theadults have knowledge of their relationship competence. The focus should be on creatinga reflective and open culture, among kindergarten employees so that one dear to behonest. Kindergarten is a great arena for fiendship, play and learning, which is a goodpreparation for school start.
In the discussion, I base myself on what I consider to be the main findings of the study:(1) the importance of security, (2) the childs need for care and the experience ofmastery, (3) the attachment processes and (4) how the kinderkarten can be a preventivearena. According to the participant, an improvement of these four areas can lift thekindergarten to meet the needs of young children. The study concludes that security andstable relationships are important protective factors. The assumptions are professionalpreschool teacher, who can show professional pride and reflect on their own practice.Adults who are emotonally present are important in dealing with the attachment needs ofyoung children. Kindergarten content togheter with competent adults provides robustchildren.
