Abstract

Denne bacheloroppgaven tar for seg Trondheim Kunstmuseums arbeidet med representasjon, inkludering og mangfold i samlingen, ut ifra et historiskperspektiv og samfunnsperspektiv.

Kapittel 1 gir en innledende bakgrunn om Trondheim Kunstmuseums samling, tema for oppgaven, problemstillinger og metode, teori og kilder. Deretter blir det om oppgavens oppbygning og om hospiteringen jeg hadde ved museet.

Kapittel 2 tar for seg museenes oppgaver, roller og historie. Først en generelt om museer, deretter blir det mer spesifikt om kunstmuseer. Til slutt blir det litt om Trondheim Kunstmuseums bakgrunn og samling.

Kapittel 3 undersøker ulike policydokumenter om samlingsforvaltning, inntaks- og innkjøpspraksis.

Kapittel 4 kommer med oppsummering av oppgaven og avsluttende betraktninger angående forholdet mellom teori og praksis med utgangspunkt i rapporter og policydokumenter.

This bachelor's thesis deals with Trondheim Art Museum's work on representation, inclusion and diversity in the collection, from a historical perspective and a societal perspective.

Chapter 1 provides an introductory background on Trondheim Art Museum's collection, the topic of the thesis, issues and methodology, theory and sources.Then it will be about the structure of the assignment and about the hospice I had at the museum.

Chapter 2 deals with the tasks, roles and history of museums. First one generally about museums, then it becomes more specific about art museums.Finally, there will be a little about Trondheim Art Museum's background and collection.

Chapter 3 examines various policy documents on collection management, intake and procurement practices.

Chapter 4 summarizes the thesis and final considerations regarding the relationship between theory and practice based on reports and policy documents.
