Abstract
Summary
In Shape of Concerts to Come (SCC) Stian Westerhus has looked at the relationship between the artist and the instrument and what the consciousness around where music occurs affects the ability to actively create music and understand creative processes.
The research is based on Westerhus' own practice as an improvising musician, composer and performer across musical genres.
In SCC Westerhus advocates the theory of musical components, and argues that music exists on a personal level. This is exemplified in SCC's musical projects with Westerhus' and fellow collaborators' management of these.
