Informasjon og veiledning til pasienter med MRSA

Abstract

Introduksjon Å bli smittet av MRSA kommer ofte som et sjokk på pasientene. Som sykepleier er det viktig å sikre at pasientene får nok informasjon og veiledning om diagnosen slik at pasientene kan føle mestring og bidra til å hindre smittespredning.

Problemstilling På hvilken måte kan sykepleier sikre informasjon og veiledning til pasienter med MRSA?

Hensikt Å se på tiltak som sikrer at sykepleiere og pasienter har nok kunnskap til å bidra med å forhindre smittespredning.

Metode I denne litteraturstudien er det brukt relevant fag- og forskningslitteratur for å besvare problemstillingen.

Resultat Funn viser at flere pasienter føler seg overlatt til seg selv. Mangelen på informasjon er merkbar. Flere av pasientene er usikre på behandlingen og veien videre. Noen sykepleiere føler seg ikke kompetente nok i møte med MRSA, mens andre har fått kursing og undervisning.

Konklusjon Sykepleiere må skape et tillitsforhold til pasientene. Ved å gi informasjon muntlig og skriftlig sikrer man at pasientene får nødvendig informasjon. Tilpassing av språk er svært viktig for å sikre at all informasjon er forstått. Hvis pasientene har behov for veiledning er tid og kontinuitet viktige faktorer for at veiledningen skal være effektiv.

Introduction Getting infected by MRSA often comes as a shock to patients. As a nurse, it is important to ensure that patients receive enough information and guidance on the diagnosis. This will give the patients a sence of achievement and help prevent the spread of infection.

Thesis question In what way can the nurse provide information and guidance to patients with MRSA?

Purpose To look at measures that ensure that nurses and patients have enough knowledge to help prevent the spread of the bacteria.

Method In this literature study, relevant scientific and research literature has been used to answer the thesis question.

Result Findings show that several patients feel left to themselves. The lack of information is noticeable. Several of the patients are uncertain about the treatment and the way forward. Some nurses do not feel competent enough to handle patients with MRSA, while others have recived training and teaching.

Conclusion Nurses must create a relationship of trust with the patients. Providing information orally and in writing ensures that the patients receives the necessary information. Language customization is very important to make sure that all the information given is understood. That the patients have enough time and continuity prove to be important for the guidance to be effective.
