| dc.description.abstract | I dagens samfunn er organisasjonene utsatt for større granskning av ulike aksjonærer, inkludert investorer og regulatorer. Samfunnsansvar (CSR) har derfor blitt en viktig del av virksomheten for organisasjoner verden over. CSR oppmuntrer organisasjoner til blant annet å vurdere og ta ansvar for innvirkningen de har på samfunnet de opererer i. Organisasjoner kan påvirke et samfunn positivt og negativt og bruke dens ressurser til å forsterke sin positive innvirkning på globale problemer, for eksempel folkehelsen.
Funnene viser hvordan organisasjonene som har deltatt i undersøkelsen hevder at deres CSR arbeid påvirker folkehelsen. Noen av initiativene som nevnes er påvirkning gjennom en bærekraftig forsyningskjede, integrerings initiativer og kostholds initiativer. Videre er funnene knyttet opp til globale helseproblemer, slik som menneskerettigheter, arbeidspraksis, rettferdighet for alle, god helse, og trivsel, for å nevne noen.
Funnene tyder på at det å ha en intern CSR-definisjon og en god CSR-strategi kan maksimere utfallet av organisasjonens folkehelseinitiativer.
Alle organisasjonene som har deltatt har, avhengig av virksomhetens natur, brukt sin kunnskap og sine ressurser til å påvirke folkehelse og andre folkehelseproblemer gjennom sitt CSR-arbeid. I hvilken grad disse initiativene er gode langsiktige tiltak og gir en bærekraftig effekt gjenstår å se. Derfor kan det å finne gode måter å måle, overvåke og følge opp initiativene på, forbedre innflytelsen CSR-strategien og arbeidet har på folkehelse problemer. | |
| dc.description.abstract | In today’s society, organisations are subjected to greater scrutiny by their various stakeholders, including investors and regulators. Thus, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) has become an important part of the business for organisations worldwide. CSR encourages organisations to, among other things, consider and take responsibility for the impact they have on the community in which they operate. Organisations can impact a community positively and negatively and use their resources to emphasize their positive impact on global issues, such as public health.
The findings showcase how the organisations interviewed claim they work with CSR to influence public health. Some of the initiatives mentioned are influencing public health through a sustainable supply chain, integration initiatives and dietary advice. Furthermore, the findings are linked up to global health issues, such as human rights, labour practices, justice for all, good health, and well-being, to mention some.
The findings indicate that having an internal CSR definition and a good CSR strategy can maximise the outcome of the organisation’s public health initiatives.
All the organisations interviewed have, depending on their nature of business, used their knowledge and resources to influence the general public health and other public health issues through their CSR work. However, to what degree these initiatives are good long-term measures and provide a sustainable effect is yet to be seen. Therefore, finding good ways to measure, monitor and follow up the initiatives, can improve the influence the CSR strategy and work has on public health issues. | |
