Fordeler i anvending av flere metoder og teknikker i skuespillarbeid

Abstract

Problemstilling: Hvilke fordeler kan det ligge i å kunne anvende flere metoder og teknikker i skuespillerarbeid, mot det å rendyrke en spesifikk disiplin? I denne oppgaven jobber jeg mot målet å besvare hvilke fordeler det kan ha for en skuespiller å ha en så bred som mulig forståelse av teater, og å kunne anvende flere ulike metoder og teknikker i arbeid. Som et motpoeng til rendyrking av en hoved-disiplin. Jeg jobber ut fra utgangspunkt i tre valgte teaterutdanninger i Norge: Statens Teaterhøgskole (KHIO), Nord Universitet og NSKI Høyskole. Gjennom teorigjennomgåelse legger jeg til rette for hoved-metodene skolene jobber ut ifra. Videre forsøker jeg å kartlegge dagens teaterlandskap, og hva som kreves av en skuespiller. For å gi et perspektiv i lys av dette går jeg inn i egne erfaringer med metodisk arbeid og intervjumateriale fra en utdannet skuespiller, og analyserer det opp mot problemstillingen. Til slutt drøfter jeg de konkrete fordelene jeg har funnet, og til hvilken grad skolene forbereder skuespillerne til å arbeide i det brede spektrum av utrykk som i dagens teaterlandskap.

Issue: What are the benefits of being able to apply multiple methods and techniques to acting, against purely cultivating a specific discipline? The goal with this assignment is to work towards answering what specific benefits lie in an ability of application of a larger number of methods and techniques in acting, stemming from a broad understanding of theatre. This will stand as a counterpoint to cultivation of a specific technique. I will work using three practices of acting schools in Norway as base for argumentation: “Statens teaterhøyskole”, Nord Universitet and NSKI høyskole. I will review theory surrounding the main methods used at these schools. Following this I will elaborate on the current tendencies in the field of theatre in Norway, and what is needed of an actor in it. In light of this I will work through my own experiences in working with method in a variety of cases. I will also analyze the issue through an interview with an educated actor. Finally, I will discuss my findings of concrete benefits, and to what degree the educations prepares an actor to work in a wide spectrum of expressions.
