Abstract
I have looked at teachers attitudes to linguistic change processes, by doing qualitative interviews with two teachers in Norwegian language, for pupils in the 3rd and 4th stages in schools in Trondheim. I found that the teachers had different attitudes to the different linguistic changes they recognized in their pupils talking, and what they were most concerned about was mixing the phonemes sj- and kj, and the standardisation of the Trondheim dialect. I found that their attitudes were very complex, and the affective, cognitive and behavioural attitudes could dissonate, so that their practice with pupils, not necessarily was unison with the experiences, knowledge or emotions they associated with a particular way of speaking.
