This Bachelor thesis is about bildung and oral narratives in the teaching subject norwegian. Inthe purpose of norwegian subject, it is written that the subject is central to the studentsbildung. With that, the norwegian subject and teacher of the subject becomes a central part toplay in developing their bildung. Oral narratives are the oldest form of knowledgedissemination we know of, and when introducing oral skills, narrative didactics will still be animportant form of communication knowledge in the subject. Additionally, can the oralnarratives contribute to personal growth. Based on this, I have chosen to investigate witchposition bildung have in the norwegian subject and how teachers at the secondary school usethe oral narratives to contribute to students bildung. Based on Wolfgang Klafkis bildungtheory, I have done a document analysis of the norwegian subjects’ purpose and interviewedthree teachers of the subject in order to gain a deeper insight into the topic of this thesis.
The thesis shows that the norwegian subject as a large bildung assignment and bildungpotential, and the teachers attend to this in several areas with the use of oral narratives. However, it seems to be challenging to arrange bildung processes, as it requires goodunderstanding and good planning work on the part of the teacher. At the same time as timeconstraints and requirements for documentation in the subject appear to play a negative rolefor bildung position in the norwegian subject and the teachers planning work.
