Electron-phonon coupling in graphene
Abstract
The aim of this Master thesis was to perform a theoretical study of theelectron-phonon coupling in graphene. The main results of the thesis arethe electron-phonon coupling constant as a function of the Fermi energy,a derivation of the phonon dispersion and a calculation of the band struc-ture. It is shown that the electron-phonon coupling constant is correlatedwith the density of states, which makes it highly dependent on the electronbands. The calculated band structure is in good agreement with literature. For the phonon dispersion, the quantitative shape matches known results, but lacks some of the details. Despite the lack of details in the dispersion, itis considered sufficient for calculating the electron-phonon coupling, as thecoupling is mostly determined by the band structure.
