"Velferdsteknologi er ikke noe nytt" : Ergoterapeuters erfaringer med implimentering av velferdsteknologi

Abstract

I de kommende årene vil eldre utgjøre en større del av befolkningen i de fleste norske kommuner, samtidig vil antall yngre tjenestemottakere øke. Velferdsteknologi er et satsningsområde for å møte de utfordringene. Hensikt: Hensikten med denne oppgaven er å belyse ergoterapeutens kompetanse på dette område og hvorfor denne kompetansen passer godt inn i arbeid med velferdsteknologi. Metode: Kvalitativ metode er benyttet. Datainnsamlingen ble gjort gjennom individuelle intervjuer med tre ergoterapeuter med erfaringer fra arbeid med velferdsteknologi i kommuner. I tillegg ble gjort et litteratursøk for finne tidligere forskning. Resultat: Ut ifra de resultatene fra de individuelle intervjuene ble det identifisert seks interesant emner som ble tatt opp i diskusjonen og knyttet opp mot teori på temaet. Det var velferdsteknologi er ikke noe nytt, ergoterapeutens kompetanse, ergoterapeutens rolle, ergoterapeutens erfaringer fra prosjektene og velferdsteknologi, opplæring og brukermedvirkning. Konklusjon: Velferdsteknologi er ikke noe nytt for ergoterapeuter. Kompetansen ergoterapeuter har i forhold til kartlegging, brukermedvirkning, tverrfagelig arbeid og kunnskap om hjelpemidler og alt det innebærer blir tatt i bruk av kommuner.

In the coming years senior citizens account for a larger part of the population in most Norwegian municipalities, while the number of younger recipients of municipal services increase. Ambient Assisted Living technology (AAL) is a priority for meeting these challenges. Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine occupational therapists expertise in this area and why this expertise fits well into working with Ambient Assisted Living technology (AAL). Method: Qualitative methods are used. Data collection was done through individual interviews with three occupational therapists with experiences from working with Ambient Assisted Living technology (AAL) in municipalities. There was in addition made a literature search to find earlier research. Result: Based on the results of the individual interviews six interesting topics were identified that were raised in the discussion and linked to the theory on the subject. The topics were welfare technology is not something new, ergonomist expertise, occupational therapist role, occupational therapists experiences of projects and Ambient Assisted Living technology (AAL), education and involvement of the user. Conclusion: Ambient Assisted Living technology (AAL) is not something new for occupational therapists. The expertise of occupational therapists in relation to assesment, user participation, interdisciplinary work and knowledge about assistive technology are adopted by municipalities.
