for ungdom under 20 år.
ENGLISH: Amandusfestivalen is hosted by Lillehammer University College (LUC) and is a national film
festival for youth under 20 years old. It is held annually at Lillehammer during the week before
Easter and extending over a period of three days.
In collaboration with LUC we have developed a crowdsourced film concept to engage the
public at Amandusfestivalen.
Crowdsourcing consists of using a larger group of people linked together in a network to
solve a common task. Participants are donating their free time, knowledge and experience
and can therefore be regarded as a form of voluntary work over the Internet.
LUC will present new ideas to NRK (The Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation) on how to
involve participants during the festival period. This project is part of LUC´s pitch to NRK.
We have therefore developed a concept where film production is turned upside down and
the film is made from the bottom up. By enlisting participants from the Amandusfestivalen,
we invited them to submit video clips filmed with their mobile phones. We then edited the
material we received into one final product. We have created a concept which allows many
different contributors to make one single film, regardless of working physically together. The
goal of this thesis is to develop a pitch and a pilot. This was done based on the NABC model.
The result is a written report, a five minute long video and a written pitch.
