The prototype uses XML files containing source data. These can be somewhat large, depending on source and location. The table below lists some file sizes one should expect for each location. The reason for mentioning this is the non-existant feedback the user gets when clicking the Add Markers button or Search Feature button. When these buttons are clicked, the relevant xml file needs to be downloaded (unless cached). When the files have been successfully downloaded, the map will automatically update. Wait time will vary depending on users available bandwidth.
Remember
- Until the map updates, do not reclick any buttons. Please wait a few moments before retrying
- An internet connection of at least 5Mbps is recommended
- If using slower internet connections, it is recommended to start with Trondheim. Using Booking.com as source also speeds the process up somewhat
- Larger locations can take several minutes to load

Usage:
- Select source and location from the two top dropdown menus in the left column.
- Select minimum amount of reviews a hotel needs to displayed on the map. 0 is generally fine and will display all hotels. Higher values are used to filter out low review hotels
- Click Add Markers to add normal markers
- To rank hotels based on a certain feature instead of overall score, select the desired feature from the dropdown list and click Search Feature
- The Find Hotel field is meant for debugging and finding specific hotels. Hotel name search returns the first match for any text. Accurate names are therefore best. Add Markers/Add Feature need to be used first.
